Our 50th birthday is a great time to highlight the contributions of all the people who have shaped our community. The rich and colorful history of Calabasas has been beautifully portrayed in a special fold-out section of this Anniversary Edition. Enjoy the visual memories of the wonderful people who have made Calabasas home over the decades.
As a longtime resident, I’ve watched a lot of Calabasas’ history in the making. From a rural community of a few thousand, over those 34 years, it has grown into a model incorporated city of over 23,000. And, integral to that growth, the Calabasas Chamber has flourished from a membership that once fit around a kitchen table to over 500 member organizations. Over the years, the combined talents of the Calabasas Chamber’s Boards of Directors, Committee Chairs, Deputies and professional staff have made it a vibrant and creative part of the Calabasas community we enjoy today.
The commitment to our Mission -- "To enhance and support our members' business success" -- has been fulfilled for half a century. Most significant in all this is the approach we’ve taken over the decades. We focus on pragmatic programs to educate ourselves, to advocate the individual and collective enterprises in our region, and to facilitate the growth and development of the people and organizations that make up our chamber of commerce.

• We advocate the needs and interests of businesses and the community.
• We promote our businesses on the local, state, national & world levels.
To develop new programs for members this past year, we launched a Chamber/City Business Roundtable. We conducted Business-Building Workshops to give members hands-on experiences to optimize their businesses. Our Economic and Government Affairs Committee regularly focused on issues of significance to Calabasas businesses and fostered interaction with all of our local officials, legislators and economic development alliances.
To facilitate our regional and global reach, we’ve created an award winning website for members, customers, residents, anyone in the world to interact with Calabasas via the Internet at www.CalabasasChamber.com -- with complete member/business listings, a community calendar filled with events, news for members, and links to our partners’ and other pertinent websites.
