PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

One of my favorite destinations in Calabasas, and a frequent sanctuary, is Sperling Nursery, which is featured on our cover this year. I have no doubt you too have a special place in this beautiful city, or will discover one, that inspires you or maybe creates solace in your busy lives. I invite you to explore all that Calabasas has to offer and accept my personal invitation to visit our Chamber office in charming Old Town Calabasas for information you need to ensure that your time in Calabasas is rewarding and memorable.

It’s been a challenging year with our rapidly changing economic conditions, but I can report that the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce remains strong and committed to our 500 business members. We continue to enjoy strong alliances with organizations in the region, including a creative partnership with the City of Calabasas which produced three new initiatives this year – the Green Task Force, exploring environmental principles and practices; Cal FORCE, a workforce education program for residents and businesses; and The Premier Business Special Collection destined for the new Calabasas Library.

The pride of our City and Chamber of Commerce is the new Calabasas Civic Center, incorporating sustainable design features certified at the Gold Level by the American Green Building Council. It will be a hub of activity for business, social and political life in Calabasas with a City Hall, Library, Founders Hall and Amphitheater Entertainment Complex that uses energy, water and human resources efficiently and effectively.

A great place to work, live and play, Calabasas attracts people who love our clean environment, diverse housing, economically sound government, progressive school system, low crime rate, abundance of parks and open space, and a community committed to service organizations like our Chamber. Together we celebrate seasonal events and programs for children, adults and seniors including Festivals, Art Shows, Fourth of July, Concerts in the Park, Earth Day, Envirothon, Arbor Day, Relay for Life, the Calabasas Classic Races, and a Jolly Red Trolley and shuttle system to enjoy them!

Our Calabasas Chamber of Commerce has a 16-member Board of Directors, 24 Deputies (ambassadors), and a network of committees that provides the energy and talent needed to carry out our ambitious Chamber programs. We have Monthly Networking/Referral Programs, Business-Builder Workshops, Educational Speakers and the Economic & Governmental Affairs Committee that covers issues of importance in the State, LA County, and City of Calabasas. You can’t afford to miss the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival, Wine Tasting, Chamber Expo and a super Bowling Tournament that raises funds for scholarships and awards. We’re dedicated “to enhance and support our members’ business success,” and we devote countless hours to live up to that promise.

We create this Business Directory to help you, every time you need an idea, a service or products. When you buy from a member of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce, you help build a better Calabasas community and ensure that Calabasas remains a most beautiful place to do business in California.
