The Membership Coordinator is a part-time employee of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce. This position is paid hourly and reports to the Chamber President/CEO and Office Manager. This position provides support in member relations, communications, events, marketing, and general office matters.
Hours: Part-time, up to 15 hours a week falling within Monday through Friday between 9am 5pm (hours to be determined), and some early mornings, nights and weekends for meetings and events. Flexible schedule available to accommodate responsibilities. On-site work for events. Current day-to-day work is remote; however, may transfer to office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the business community, communicating programs and the value of membership
- Assist with membership recruitment and retention through business visits and regular communication
- Promptly and effectively respond to prospects inquiring about membership
- Attend Chamber functions and meetings for the purposes of networking and recruiting
- Maintain business directory
- Assist with Chamber phone messages and emails
- Assist with designing fliers, newsletters, and press releases with accuracy and creativity
- Assist with social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn)
- Run reports and update website in ChamberMaster
- Work with venues on event planning and on-site matters
- Coordinate, set agenda, attend meetings, and take photos
- All other duties as assigned

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Excellent work ethic and attendance
- Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, possess time management skills
- Experience working in a professional environment
- Experience with Outlook, Excel, Constant Contact, Canva, and ChamberMaster is a plus
- A candidate with demonstrated success in business development and event planning is preferred
- The candidate will demonstrate courtesy, civility, and professionalism
- Knowledge of the Calabasas community is a plus
- Handle information in a confidential manner
Education: Graduation from college and/or similar job experience in marketing, event coordination, nonprofit management and/or general office work
