• Membership Coordinator

    The Membership Coordinator is a part-time employee of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce.  This position is paid hourly and reports to the Chamber President/CEO and Office Manager.  This position provides support in member relations, communications, events, marketing, and general office matters. 

     

    Hours: Part-time, up to 15 hours a week falling within Monday through Friday between 9am ­ 5pm (hours to be determined), and some early mornings, nights and weekends for meetings and events. Flexible schedule available to accommodate responsibilities.  On-site work for events. Current day-to-day work is remote; however, may transfer to office.
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the business community, communicating programs and the value of membership
    • Assist with membership recruitment and retention through business visits and regular communication
    • Promptly and effectively respond to prospects inquiring about membership
    • Attend Chamber functions and meetings for the purposes of networking and recruiting
    • Maintain business directory
    • Assist with Chamber phone messages and emails
    • Assist with designing fliers, newsletters, and press releases with accuracy and creativity
    • Assist with social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn)
    • Run reports and update website in ChamberMaster
    • Work with venues on event planning and on-site matters
    • Coordinate, set agenda, attend meetings, and take photos
    •  All other duties as assigned

    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent work ethic and attendance
    • Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, possess time management skills
    • Experience working in a professional environment
    • Experience with Outlook, Excel, Constant Contact, Canva, and ChamberMaster is a plus
    • A candidate with demonstrated success in business development and event planning is preferred
    • The candidate will demonstrate courtesy, civility, and professionalism
    • Knowledge of the Calabasas community is a plus
    • Handle information in a confidential manner
    Education: Graduation from college and/or similar job experience in marketing, event coordination, non­profit management and/or general oce work
